The Care Certificate and why it matters in 2016


The Care Certificate is a new set of standards introduced in March 2015.  It is aimed at Care Workers and Social Care support workersand provides the skills they need to give safe and efficient care in their workplace.

We expect that in 2016, the Care Certificate will continue to be adopted by those care homes that are striving to improve their standard of care and is the first step for the career path of Care Workers/Social Care support workers.

The Care Certificate consists of 15 Standards as listed below. To qualify for the Care Certificate you must complete the 15 modules and be assessed in the workplace. For most people this can form part of their day to day work and should take about 4-6 weeks to complete.

  • Infection Prevention and Control
