So, I’ve done the Memory Walk: now I get cake – right?
Poor Wrigley – he did a magnificent job, being such a great team mascot and mustering the troops on our Memory Walk: but all this talk of the cakes we’re planning for our Macmillan Coffee Morning has rather led him to expect he’s going to be the star of the show on 30th September as well!
We’re all sure that he’s dreaming of German Shepherd cupcakes ……..
or bettter yet ..................
None of us want to be the one to tell him “In your dreams, Smutt,” because we can imagine the hurt, sad expression that’s going to spread over his face. But the bad news has to be broken to him soon, as our Macmillan Coffee Morning is fast approaching.
We’re really proud to be part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 30th September, helping raise much-needed funds for people facing cancer – with a national target this year of over £25m. Hmmmm, to either sit at your desk slaving over a hot computer or chat with colleagues over tea or coffee and proper, homemade cakes for half an hour, raising money for a really good cause. Being honest, it’s a no brainer isn’t it?
It’s certainly not too late to get involved yourself. The nice people at Macmillan can either send you a free kit and everything you need to get you up and running: just head to http://coffee.macmillan.org.uk/hosting/get-involved/. Or if you’re unable to host a coffee morning yourself this year, but love the thought of all that homemade cake, they also have maps of where your closest one will be at: http://coffee.macmillan.org.uk/about/search/
If you’re in the vicinity of Stevenage you’re very welcome to join our party and buy a piece of cake and a cuppa to raise money for Macmillan cancer nurses. Just be wary of the sad black dog who may be slinking about outside, trying to kid you he was promised cake too!
